Introducing Our New Local Representative in Nepal, Insha Pun

Greetings everyone, I’m Insha Pun, a Registered Nurse currently working in the Community and Mental health aspects of Health System in Nepal.

With a deep belief that health is more of a concept beyond the premises of hospital and clinics, I have always invested my time and efforts in preventive and promotive health. This core belief has inspired me to work for the health and well-being of the children, adolescents and women in geographically disadvantaged areas. During my two years of professional experience, I have gained experience as a UNICEF trainee, Field Supervisor and Health/Nutrition In-charge. With all these exposures, I’ve become self-motivated to contribute directly or indirectly to Community Health.

Personally, I am engaged in many youth-targeted programs such as a program where we conduct and facilitate webinars on the Sustainable Development Goals and another in which we promote meaningful engagement of local youth in their immediate community. Most recently, I have founded a digital project titled EU 5_Series targeted at adolescents where we discuss Mental health and simple positive coping strategies. Through this digital advocacy, we reach the younger population via social media pages such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok. We have young working professionals and post graduate students sharing their expertise on this project.

So, as my professional and personal experience and interests converge to one specific platform, community health, my engagement as a GFF HELPS Local Representative will be another meaningful journey. Moreover, I am looking forward to learning in the international environment that GFF HELPS provides.

All in all, with my deep interest to work in the community especially for the promotive and preventive health and my ongoing advocacy for mental health, I’m all the more excited to be part of this dynamic team and the great mentorship that I will receive being in the GFF Family.
